(A statement by Syed Hamid Albar)
The government said today it had released suspected terrorist Yazid Sufaat a US trained bio-chemist, who has been detained since 2001 after being connected with the September 11 attacks.
Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar said Yazid, a member of regional militant group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) was freed from the Kamunting detention camp in Perak on Nov 24, was now safe to be released into society.
"He was considered as a threat to public security in Malaysia because he was part of Jemaah Islamiyah, trying to establish an Islamic government within the region," he told reporters.
(A statement by IGP Musa Hassan)
Meanwhile, the Star quoted Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan as saying that Yazid was released because "he had shown remorse and repentance after almost seven years of rehabilitation.""He was released on several conditions. He has to report to the police regularly and cannot leave Selangor without police permission.
Lets compare these two statements came from the VVIP of the Home Ministry.
From a suspect terrorist linked to 11/9 attacks, then alledged as member of militant group (Jemaah Islamiyyah), surprisingly .... during 7 years of his detention, he had never been brought to the court , with the evidence produced, let the judge heard and made his decission what was the real judgement@verdict dropped on him.
This is really amazing!!! Such a high profile case, that tarnished the name of its bearer, only remedied by daily rehab and showed of remorse and repentance.......
The released bursts unanswerable questions...
1- Where are the roles of the lawyers , the judges , the jurists and the courts?
2-Where is the value of the Federal Constitution?
3-ISA is used to tarnish the good name of the Islamic Religion?
